4 year update. It's 2026 now and the era of AI is here in full swing. It's probably a miracle this website is still up through all the changes in the world. With the recent PHP CVE debacle, it was time to either update this website that was still running in PHP 5.6 or shut it down. And with help of Claude... something that would've been far too bothersome for me to do manually was possible.
So, this website is still alive. For what purpose? I don't know. Maybe I just like the idea that good things that once existed, should exist for as long as possible.
Updated to latest PHP version. Secured whole bunch of stuff. All images pointing outside of this domain is removed... since all those websites now no longer exist.
I even added a new feature! You can read all of the past news now! |

Wow, it is 2022. And I'm maintaining a website that no one has visited for over a decade now. Time sure flies and I'm not even quite sure why I'm still keeping this. Perhaps nostalgia, perhaps missing the time I shared with friends.
I'm finally getting rid of the domain aoahq.net which I've kept since 2003-04-03 and I will be moving it to a new subdomain of aoahq.grumpyland.com. Though it doesn't cost a whole lot to keep a domain (and thus why I've kept it for so long), but I'm not sure there's any value to keeping it at this point.
Much sure has changed since then. And I'm currently living in a perpetual pandemic. I'm not sure if the past me would believe such a thing. Much else has also changed in the internet world, and that's why I felt the need to harden up this place if I continue to have the desire to keep it up. Technologies are getting old and insecure. Many parts of this website's access is now removed. There is no login, there is no forums--which have been the heart and soul of this website and our memories. It's a pity that it could not be kept, but it's not like I can possibly keep a software made for twenty years ago alive and kicking.
I think I was quite proud of the programming work I've done for this website back then. Heck, I think this website still looks pretty darn great for the time. But as I look back at the code, there are so many insecurities everywhere. They had to be reworked and hardened.
We had a strong run for a decade, and another decade has passed. I may continually miss this place. But perhaps it will never die. |

So here we go, on our way into SPL again. But this time is a little different than the last few for the Arts of Arc. Gone are familiar AoA names such as Phusion, Mercenary, and Enine. In their place are young up and comers, added to AoA as the next wave of talent. Guys like Berserk, Sidewinder, Starr, Osisity and Profane. These guys got into AoA based off potential, toiling their way through the minor leagues and clan wars, working for their chance to shine. Well, that time has come. Their hard work and loyalty have paid off. The success of AoA in this upcoming SPL rests squarely on their shoulders now.
Mix in a few older, better known players such as Drue, Snowball, Frog and Shadow to help lead the charge, and there you have it. Our SPL fortunes rest on this lineup. It rests on how well we can work together to achieve our goals. It rests on how much time we spend improving ourselves and our teamwork. But mainly it rests squarely at the feet of our next wave of talent. So lets see what we got guys. Good luck this SPL. |

The Forum malfunction

Well... That was fast (<20min)... Forum seems fixed, but it's just a patchwork. I dunno how long it will hold. We're running php5 and mysql 5. even newest IPB isn't designed to run mysql5. lol...
Hi guys, and sorry for this very late post. The forums are currently malfunctioning due to an upgrade of sql/php4 to 5 by my hosting and we are running a very old version of IPB (v1.3) which only runs on 4. Upgrade of this has happened a long time ago, but they provided me a method to keep running php4 scripts, which is how the forums ran. Then the hosting thought we'll just upgrade to 5 perm for everyone and supposedly "update" everyone's php4 codes to 5 automatically. Clearly, this has failed. Thx to my lack of checking frequency, I've only realized now of this problem. All my scripts are no longer working except a few.
Right now, I'm in the middle of my exam, and I'm not certain of what the solution is. So, if you guys are still wishing for the forums to be up, please be patient...
Also, like I always say... email me if something like this happens. But I didn't get any emails. I know one person is going to ojbect at least... but he sent it to my aoahq.net address which I don't use. lol it's at grumpyland.com, not aoahq.net. I guess some of you guys didn't know... hehe... But still, someone could have contacted me earlier.
Anyways... I'll really try to come up with some solution in the near future.
I'll write more stuff when I can give you some updates. |

It has finally happened!! Due to the growing activity within our core we have decided to revamp our structure in an attempt to re-invigorate the clan. As of now Alpha, Merc, and Myself will be taking the reigns in the HC. We have many changes in mind like a new Inactive Members list as well as a New Recuitment system. Also our beloved John (Vert) has stepped down as leader and will now be known as Honorary Leader. He will still be around to give his expert advice when he is needed. If not he will hear from me I STILL HAVE YOU CELL #! Graphical has also left AoA to pursue other things in life. We wish you the best Troy! Merc, Alpha, and Myself will try our best to bring back the party! |

Special Breaking AoA News Report;
A young boy and his horse. Beautiful yes, but things are not always as they seem. Today we bring you the story of a wronged stallion and his tales of what may come due to these growing tensions. Een Vrolijke Kerstmis & Gelukkig Nieuwjaar, for everyone. I hope you guys will have an amazing time and eventhough im not into Christmas and all that shizzle, i want to point out to think about all the people that cannot celebrate this because of poverty, diseases and other kinda disasters. (But then i also feel u dont have to be a hypocrit and do it on christmas alone, doit every day and ur set.)
Together we can make poverty history, so be a nice guy and just spend some money for some kinda help program for i dunno, Africa, Iraq, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Belgium, India, ...
I hope I will see you guys all back on arc soon with your stomachs filled but make sure your fingers are not too chibby (if thats a word, sounds like one...) and we can prepare for APL. I know its hard to motivate some others in the clan for this upcoming event but Im sure we can motivate eachother.
The first thing that we need to work on is to get to know and like and most and for all respect eachother, I also need to still work on this aspect, but believe me i really am trying. Its a great moment now to solve inner clandisputes if there are any, ifu holdany grudges go ahead and talk about it, theres plenty of people that will listen to u here if u are stuck with somehting, if u need real life advice and u want to out urself, theres always Mang to talk to and if u want to know more about USAish soccer just talk to westalicious. Well, drue is somewhat back to help us, not enterily sure if he likes that or not but it seems to be working well. Im sure we are fine without him also, but its always good to have another leader on the field.
Yesterday we fought vs SI and I must congradulate Sander, Drew, Dustin and Simon to succesfully beat a very strong SI line. A tie woudlve been more then fair for us, but through smart plays in the end we pulled out the win. (now SI protested that but I think it wont get them anywhere).
Also a nicejob to Graph, Phus, Arr and rekon for a well played game vs uFo. (Small thank you to drue and myself als i guess hah!) Drue steals MVP's and he CANT solo while I - the sillybelgian - can :) Anyway, we won the game 5-2, nj guys !

Aightypoooh, summers almost over, we all had an excellent time. We had some bad luck in the AGN Semi finals and the YAL finals, we lost to LF and NiN. We had a good season though. I am glad with the performances. Thanks a lot to Nino for helping us throughout the season like he did. Special thanks to Alpha for improving a lot, to Graphical for starting to shown a new load of ARC Intrest, to Vertigo for sticking around and being there for whoever needed him the most, for Drue for ARCers.net and for his awesome 30+ games a season -its fantastic to have you around here Drue Barrymore-, special thanks to Wey for being there to give us Strategy lessons, to mdz for winning gay poker tourney's, to Nine for the lovely Awards, to westihoe for being gay as he is, and actually everybody else that was involved during the summer.
Good news, our clan will be more active now since we will celebrate the return of the Great Mystical, the Great DarkLion, and the Great Chito.(Simon and Myself are also back in bussines and Im pretty sure we will see the others around aswell)
Other great news, clan AoA gained a few new members during the summer. Please meet Phusion, Blackhawk and Snowball. Lovely people and I hope you all will feel special around us somewhow. Expect practices and more forum activity soon. We'll get there!
